A picture of Thor. Repousse plaques. Tin tooling. This is worked of reverse embossing and repousse into metal and treated with acid.
In Norse mythology, Thor (from Old Norse Ţórr) is a hammer-wielding god associated with thunder, lightning, storms, oak trees, strength, the protection of mankind, and also hallowing, healing, and fertility.
I love the varied textures, so beautiful and lovingly done.
I remember when I was a girl in the 1960s I got a kit comprised of a sheet of copper, some tools, a base to work upon. and some liquid that smelled of sulphur to antique the finished product. It was not easy, and took a while, if memory serves, but I loved working on it.
This picture of your work brought that back to me, along with the happiness I felt.
